area rugs web site. Above and beyond the extensive aesthetic changes to the site the company has added many new features to ensure new and existing customers find the area rugs they want quickly and easily.
We know from retail analytics that search is a crucial feature for shoppers and we wanted to be sure our search was as easy to use and as comprehensive as possible. We added the Recently Browsed feature because I have used it personally in my online shopping and found it invaluable.

Among the new features that have been added are advanced and simplified search capabilities. With their Advanced Search feature customers can search for area rugs by size, price and color using simple pull down menus. This allows them to narrow in on what they are looking for quickly and easily.
RugSale has also added a drop down suggestions feature to the standard search bar. This feature looks at what the customer is typing in real-time into the search box and gives a drop down menu with suggestions as to what they might be looking for. This helps if a shopper is not sure of the spelling of something. As they type the first few letters of the word or phrase, possible matches drop down on a menu for them to choose from.
Another addition to the site is the Recently Browsed feature. This tracks the
rugs shoppers have viewed and shows thumbnails in the lower left hand menu bar. The purpose behind this is to allow shoppers who have moved further along in a search and decide they liked a rug they saw earlier to easily find that rug again.
