There is still time to plant your herbs for summer long flavor. At the Farmers Market, you can choose from over 35 varieties of culinary, medicinal and ornamental herbs for your garden and beautiful handcrafted planters in which to plant them. And for summer long color, check out the wide variety of bedding plants. As always, beautiful cut flowers and arrangements will be available to brighten your home and table.
The Hickory Landmarks Society will operate the Community Booth on June 4th to promote the 2005 Home and Garden Tour scheduled for June 11th and the publication of their new architectural history of Hickory titled from “Tavern to Town, Revisited”, written by Albert Keiser and Angela May . Every hour two tickets to the Home & Garden Tour and a copy of “From Tavern to Town” will be raffled off to some lucky visitor. Authors of “Tavern to Town, Revisited”, Albert Keiser and Angela May, will be on hand to autograph books from 9-12.
The Downtown Hickory Farmers' Market is open every Saturday morning 7 am to 2 pm and every Wednesday afternoon from 2 pm until 6 pm, through October 29. The Market is located in the parking lot on the east side of the old Hickory Railroad Station, just across from Union Square.
