Furnitureland South, the World's Largest Home Furnishings Showplace, Inaugurates the Newly Redesigned Selva Gallery July 28, 2006(PRWEB) July 6, 2006 -- Furnitureland South, the World’s Largest Home Furnishings Showplace, inaugurates the newly redesigned Selva Gallery July 28, 2006, from 2 pm. to 4 pm., with a welcome and presentation by Selva’s president and CEO, Philipp Selva. Dr. Selva will introduce Lorenzo Bellini, the award-winning architect from Rome and designer of the company’s latest collections, after which Mr. Bellini will comment on the newest showcased collections and the designs that inspired them. A ribbon-cutting ceremony presided by Philipp Selva and Darrell Harris, the founder and CEO of Furnitureland South, will mark the official opening of the updated 5,000-square-foot gallery on the first floor of Furnitureland South’s Showroom. Antipasti, Italian coffee and other refreshments will be served, and the public is warmly invited to attend the opening.
Selva, headquartered in Bolzano in the South Tyrol, is one of Italy’s leading manufacturers of high-quality, handcrafted furniture. Founded in 1968 by Josef (Peppi) Selva and now run by his son Philipp, the company has grown from a small, family enterprise to a top international brand, exporting to more than forty countries. Today, Selva Style International is a leading furnishing brand that has achieved worldwide renown and is a trademark for classic furniture with a broadly diversified product line. The company specializes in exquisite, handcrafted wood furniture of the very highest quality, achieved by utilizing the finest materials and drawing on the long-established artisanal craftsmanship in the region of Verona. The Selva name is a unique promise for unparalleled creativity, captivating variety, individual furnishing concepts and consummate Italian craftsmanship.
As a trendsetter in design, Selva has sought to incorporate the love of tradition into innovative design concepts, expanding from the purely classical, period-style furniture to cutting-edge contemporary designs. Lorenzo Bellini’s appreciation for tradition is evident in his design aesthetic that evidences a synthesis of the past with the contemporary. The architectural studio of Lorenzo Bellini Associates has collected numerous international awards for interior design and decorating, as well as for industrial and yacht design.
True to Mr. Bellini’s working title of “dissonant harmony,” downtown – a collection Selva introduced last year and one of the three latest collections to be showcased in the re-inaugurated Selva gallery – is simultaneously diverse and harmonious, fashionable and timeless. As its name suggests, downtown is inspired by 1930’s Manhattan, incorporating subtle Art Deco references in a fusion of classic design with contemporary chic.
Heritage J.S., Bellini’s eclectic collection dedicated to Selva founder, J.S. Selva, reinforces the company’s reputation for pushing back boundaries in terms of mixing styles, shapes and eras, and combining them into a harmonious offering for the 21st century interior. Heritage J.S. reinterprets Empire, Biedermeier and Regency models to suit the demands of contemporary living.
SelvaSolitaire, created in collaboration with Swarovski, the Austrian company internationally renowned for its brilliant crystals, is the third showcased collection and was designed by Enthoven Associates. The collection marries the worlds of haute couture and designer jewelry with cutting-edge interiors to create the ultimate in luxury: beautifully crafted, elegantly designed furniture, judiciously encrusted with shimmering crystals.
Furnitureland South, the Carolinas’ exclusive source for Selva Style International, is especially pleased to be able to present Philipp Selva and Lorenzo Bellini at the re-inauguration of the newly designed Selva Gallery, a prelude to kicking off Furnitureland South’s annual Awesome August Sales Event.
