It was the most beautiful rose in the entire garden. Yet it was unhappy... This pretty rose wanted to please every person who came to the garden. Visitors to the garden where not allowed to pluck any rose. As soon as anyone would come into the garden this beautiful rose would do everything to gain their attention. It would sway,dance,shout,yell...... It was strange in a way that though this rose was the most pretty one in the entire garden very few people would pass by this rose and appreciate it. One fine day an old man who visited the garden everyday found this rose crying...
“ Do not think of anyone else. ”
The old man listened to the rose patiently...
"I have a solution for you......" he calmly said..
"Do you know of anyone who comes to the garden everyday and who really loves you" asked the old man to the rose.
There was a young couple who used to visit the garden everyday and spent hours chatting near this rose. They loved this rose so much that they silently carassed and kissed it.... It was against the rules of the garden but they were so much attracted by its beauty that they could not resist....
"Please only this couple from today. Do not think of anyone else. Shower so much attraction and love to this couple as if that was your only purpose of existence in this world.... Do that for two weeks and then i will see you ....." said the old man to the rose..
The rose dutifully followed the old man's advice.. Everyday it would think of different ways to please this couple. The rose was now not bothered about attracting other people. It would wake up everyday with the only intention of pleasing this couple. This was its only goal in life.. Four weeks passed by and the old man returned...
"How are you feeling now" asked the old man to the pretty rose.
The rose looked more beautiful than ever. It was relaxed, composed and appeared more colourful. It seemed happy pleasing only one couple rather than the whole world...
Being Happy becomes so easy if you try to please only one person in this world.... It is called Focused Happiness..
"I have both good and bad news for you today" said the old man
"First the bad news.The young couple who loved you so much have moved to another city. They would not be visiting this garden anymore. "
"But the good news is you now have an opportunity of pleasing the person who created this garden...This person would be visiting the garden everyday from tomorrow.. However I cannot reveal the identity of this individual... You have to search for yourself..... The only hint I can give you is watch out for the colour blue.... I wish you good luck..." The old man left the garden never to return back...
The rose was left all alone. It felt very sad and heart broken from inside. It had no one to please . The young couple had left her and the old man who advised her did not return back. For two weeks she kept looking around trying to spot the creator of the garden,she looked around for the blue colour and spotted it in many people but she had no clue who the creator of the garden was....
One fine day out of sheer desperation she cried at the top of her voice and looked up at the clear blue sky... A powerful voice spoke from above " The only person you have to please is Me. I am the real reason for your existence and not the curator who sowed the seeds,watered you and took care of you. You can respect the person who created you but you don't have to please him nor anyone else in this world. You have been born to please the Infinite and not the Finite. The Infinite can be found within You and I will help you find that if you follow my instructions..."
The powerful voice disappeared. The sky opened, the clouds turned black and the rain gods turned its fury onto the earth... The pretty rose got all drenched and enlightened.....
The old man returned to the garden the next day.. He was surprised not to find the rose flower. There was a note by the side of the plant which read " I found the rose flower so pretty that I offered it to the Lord. Forgive me for breaking the rules but i thought it would be an cruel on my part to allow human beings to smell and caress it. It was destined for a Higher Life,for something greater ,something more wonderful and magnificent. I returned it back to its rightful owner..."
Whom are you trying to please my dear friend? The one who created you, the one who is so close to you or the one who is responsible for your real existence. The rose flower was wise enough to please the Infinite one. It is your chance to please the Almighty today....
