(PRLEAP.COM) MAPLEWOOD, NY – Terry Gensler of Preferred Drapery & Blinds received the 2006 BlindCrafter Rising Star Award at the BlindCrafter National Convention in Las Vegas, NV. Mr. Gensler was awarded this distinction for his dedication to the future of the BlindCrafter brand and his remarkable business growth as a BlindCrafter.
Terry Gensler owns Preferred Drapery & Blinds, a company born in 1999, which operates out of three locations in the Pittsburgh area. An established name in the window treatment industry, he began working in the wholesale side of the business for Kirsch, Joanna, and Levolor. After securing his MBA at Johnson and Wales University, he returned home to start a residential blind and shade fabrication business. When his Chicago business associates wanted to consolidate rather than expand, Terry took his organization to his family, who owned Caldwell’s Windoware, and Preferred Drapery & Blinds was born as a result. In 2005, Terry was appointed general manager of Window Décor Distributors, which is part of his family’s businesses. Together with Claire Capes he manages its wholesale operations.
The presentation of the award kicked off a three-day BlindCrafter Convention held in Las Vegas, NV, where BlindCrafter dealers from around the nation gathered for three days of networking, product workshops, and business strategy seminars.
