Formerly these boxes were only available to friends, family and one UK store. This collection of boxes has been used by Rob to give heirloom quality gifts to friends and family, and have been available only in tiny quantities in one UK Store. Using the highest quality woods (fiddleback maple, ash, American walnut, ebony etc) and construction methods, Rob has created beautiful works of art with function.
By combining his exemplary woodcraft skills, coupled with the experience to finish the wood to an extremely high standard, the pieces created by Rob are stunning to look at in their own right. Add to this the thoughtful touches that have gone into the design, such as exotic wood trimming and sumptuous crushed suede used for the linings, and the pieces call gently back to an age when English furniture was second to none across the world.
Each box will take from 60-80 hours of Rob’s time to complete, with parts of the process (oil finishing) needing several days in their own right. Rob commented about his jewellery boxes that he “really enjoys making them, and they are every bit as complicated as the guitars – getting the boxes just right is time consuming, but I am passionate about quality”. Until Richard Brown from TCB Trading Limited spotted the boxes in Rob’s workshop they had simply been a way of giving beautiful gifts. Richard convinced him to release them to the general public, and they look set to become an instant hit.
Not afraid to scrap sub-standard pieces, the work that Rob has released can only be described as stunning. Each piece is dispatched with its own hand signed COA (Certificate of Authenticity) from Rob Williams himself, assuring the recipient of its inherent quality and potential for future collectability. TCB Trading Limited is an extremely young company founded by two executives who have recently left the IT industry to capitalize on the skills learned within that industry.
