San Francisco's Historic Design District Adds Inspired New Home and Garden Store

(PRWEB) February 22, 2006 -- After nearly two decades as a designer working for other well-known retailers, John Giacomazzi has finally opened his own home and garden store, called AREA San Francisco, in historic Jackson Square. Although the store was quietly opened a few weeks ago, stylists and designers have been filing in and word is spreading quickly.

AREA San Francisco is in good company, as Jackson Square boasts many of the city’s design elite including William Stout Architectural Books, Japonesque, Thomas Livingston Antiques, Artimide, Kartell, Vitra and DWR showrooms.

John has always wanted to open a store in the city that offers some of the product he has discovered during his travels all over the world. His new store, AREA San Francisco, offers a well-edited selection of tableware, lighting, and other contemporary accessories and botanicals for the home--many of which aren't found elsewhere in San Francisco. As a former designer for Nordstrom, Banana Republic, Levi Strauss & Co. and Smith & Hawken, he already has a built in local following for his unique ability to ‘pull it all together.’ San Franciscan’s should expect John Giacomazzi and his 1,600 square-foot store to be advocate, curator and provocateur and to inspire design professional and amateur alike.

The AREA San Francisco store’s grand opening celebration will be held on February 23, 2006.
