It’s not always easy for me to ‘look beyond’ what I see, so I tend to like the houses that are move-in ready,” Carol Marchetti, 58, New York, explains. “The selling point for my house was the backyard, I totally fell in love with it,” Marchetti explains through a smile.

“The bottom line is you have to think of your house as more than a house but also as an investment. You need to maximize your investment. The outside of your house is just as important as the inside and anyone who sells there home learns that quickly,” Melillo concludes.
