Retailers, such as koi pond builders and garden centers, no longer have to be dependent upon risky airline shipments from out-of-state or international locations, and their associated time consuming airport pickups.

With this new courier service, koi are transported from the koi farm directly to the customer’s business location. The koi are prepared for shipping in the morning (bagged, oxygenated, and boxed) and then manually and carefully loaded into a temperature-stable van. Delivery is made the same day. This is a much needed and long overdue alternative shipping solution.
An all too common problem exists when normal airline handling stresses koi into illness, or worse yet results in mortality. Also, smaller koi which constitute most of the retail business do not tolerate wide temperature swings that are likely to be encountered with airline shipping. Missed opportunities, reduced profits, and customer dissatisfaction resulting from inadequate shipping methods no longer have to be accepted or left to chance.
Brian Kroposki of Reflexions Landscape Corp. in Goshen, N.Y., a koi pond builder who buys koi from The Koi Farm reiterates the benefits of the courier service by saying, “In addition to the courier delivery saving us time, we receive ready-to-sell koi.”
“It is our responsibility to provide healthy koi when our customers need them, and the courier allows us to do this without any added cost” says Lee Menszak of The Koi Farm.
