Thank you for making our very unusual Four Seasons Waterfall Gazebo display, shown at the recent 45th Annual Colorado Garden and Home Show, such a success! Look for detailed images of this beautiful structure to be posted soon on these pages, one image from the show is already posted below. Also, our new line of artist created path and landscape lighting was well received at this recent show. Look for this new line to be posted on our landscape lighting pages. These unique lights are beauties! Custom projects are always welcome! Please don't waste the precious time that you get to spend outdoors by purchasing a high-maintenance wood or steel trellis. Plant a copper trellis, arbor or gazebo in your landscape and sit back and let it age beautifully! Add beauty and interest to your garden even before the plants mature. Our superbly crafted garden structures are all functional works of art. Sturdily constructed of all copper or copper and redwood, these pieces will survive the elements beautifully and last a lifetime. Left untreated, the copper weathers to a green patina and the redwood will turn a silvery gray. Or, if you want color right away, we can apply a solution for an instant verdigris patina. For nighttime interest, try up-lighting any of these trellises with our copper/brass landscape lighting to elegantly highlight your landscape's architecture.  Standing 15.5 feet tall with a custom 4 foot octagon all copper finial, the top is supported by four 2 feet wide panels. These support panels have adjustable drip bars which emit a steady stream of water into copper catch basins at ground level.

 Sitting under or near this fabulous copper gazebo, one gets quite a symphony of the sound of the falling "rain" all without getting wet! Over the top of each drip bar is an artistic representation of each Season of the year created with birds and branches.

The one shown below is the third and most elaborate of three custom wedding structures that were purchased by the City and County of San Diego for use outside of their Clerk Recorders' Offices for staging outdoor weddings. As an example of our custom fabrication, this repeat customer wanted something besides a wall to separate two rooms inside the home. With the melding of three different patina colors, the texture of a braid, its abstract design and three whimsical dragonflies, we created an art panel screen that defines and completes the space yet still allows the openness that was desired. Below are photos of a series of three arbors commissioned by the Denver Botanic Gardens and installed on their grounds. They are custom designs based on the Vineyard Arbor (see Arbors page). On top of the center arbor of the three we attached one of our Landing Duck weathervanes (see Full Size Weathervanes page). Each arbor is 9 feet high, 8.5 feet wide and 6 feet deep. The horizontal cross members are "weaved" through its vertical members and the entire trellis attaches to a wall with wall brackets, never touching the ground. FROM DESIGN: TO FABRICATION: Above is a new example of the custom work that we like to do here at GI Designs. A local customer saw a Frank Lloyd Wright window that he wanted imitated in the design of his custom flat top arbor and gate. He wanted each side panel aside the gate to be in a modified "H" shape with the gate and the side panels to mimic the design of the window. A verdigris patina was applied to some solid copper sheet panels in each feature. Says the customer; "Wayne, need to do some clean up (after install), but thought you would like to see some pics. This world class facility is known for its expert care of spinal cord injuries and the initial care and treatment of Christopher Reeve. Please note that we never use plumbing fittings to join our pieces unless you specifically request them. We believe they look good in a plumbing system, but not on display in or around your home for use as decorative trellises, arbors and other garden structures! Your garden structure from GI Designs Does Not have to be assembled by you using basic plumbing fittings; it is already professionally fit together. Our pieces are truly works of art, not a mass of 90 and 45 degree elbows, tees and other plumbing fittings used to make fabrication easy! We guarantee all of our trellises, arbors and garden structures for life! Below, on the left, is an example of our construction methods building a Ryan Trellis (with optional green patina). On the right is a Ryan Trellis made with plumbing fittings. We believe our system of custom angle cuts or bends for the corners, and drilling and fitting of the cross members is closer to the clean lines of fine furniture than the "below the kitchen sink" look of the technique at right used by many in this field. One of our founders was a Journeyman Pipefitter at Newport News Shipyard and the other is a graphic designer and artist -- We know what you want and what looks good! While both methods of joinery are sturdy and long lasting, we believe that G.I. Designs' construction methods have the definite edge in creating a work of art that you would be proud to display outside your home or business. We do the work for you, we don't send you something you will spend hours assembling, nor will you be saying to yourself that you could have built our products yourself! We see nothing "elegant" about plumbing fittings. You be the judge. The Difference is in the Details!
